Riverside Public Utilities lawn rebates

Get water from Riverside Public Utilities? Turf replacement for RPU residential water customers runs through SoCal Water$mart. These details do not apply to every Inland Empire water agency or to RPU electric-only customers. Rebate amounts and available funding can change. Check the official information and estimator, then confirm the amount reserved in your written Project Start Approval. Applying does not guarantee approval or payment.

Apply before removing grass

Wait for Project Start Approval before killing or removing grass. Dead lawn, bare dirt, and projects already started or finished do not qualify. The application requires turf photos, a matching water bill, and a simple landscape plan showing the conversion area and the type and location of a stormwater retention feature. A homeowner sketch is accepted; a paid professional plan is not required.

How to apply

Plan your new landscape

Program requirements include at least three plants per 100 square feet, a stormwater feature, permeable landscaping, mulch, and qualifying efficient irrigation or capped sprinklers for hand watering. Synthetic turf is not allowed. Check the full requirements before planning your project.
