|Chanel s winter wonderland in Paris Ice maidens in crystals and snowflake embroideries, royal ladies in ermine and quilted silks, flirtatious females in bugle beaded fringes Moncler Voile Womens Jackets Sale Zip Rose Red just a few of the luxury offerings from Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel s autumn winter couture collection yesterday. In spite of winter wonderland themes, the setting was a warm and peaceful cloister garden in a centuries old abbey. Suits with pleated Pierrot collars and long matching cuffs Moncler France Outlet on the jackets often had a Little Lord Fauntleroy look. Cutaway jackets and fitted longer jackets were paired with enormous jewelled hip girths, a new trademark for Chanel this season. For a very Coco Chanel look, Lagerfeld offered a pleated off white charmeuse satin blouse, a long, black tweed cardigan with slim sleeves, cuffs extra long like soft paddles and a bouncy black and white fringed pleated skirt. Plus the high heeled white pant boots. Tough to wear but glamorous was a typical snow maiden outfit: an off shoulder, white tweed dress rimmed with ermine and decorated with crystal and jet stones. For coifs, Lagerfeld sometimes borrowed from the convent, topping neat, ballerina slick hairdos with lacy wimple caps that somehow looked too sexy for a nun. The sensation was the airy white and puffy bridal dress, worn beautifully by model Linda Evangelista, as gorgeous as ever. Newly slim Lagerfeld accompanied her for a finale in his black and white cutaway. The show overall looked opulent, and that s really what haute couture has become: the impossible dream. French rock star Vanessa Paradis, the companion Fashion Moncler Men Autumn Winter Black Jackets of Johnny Depp, was among the celebrity clientele in the audience. She donned light street clothes for the show, with a look of a patchwork hippie. Donatella Versace, for her autumn winter atelier or haute couture collection went back to the Ritz. But this wasn t the same hyped up, sexed up pool show that it was back in the days of her late brother Gianni. Nobody from the house will say Versace s struggling, but eliminating big name model shows must say something. But Donatella still scraped together a champagne splashed Ritz bash in the salons and hundreds of examples of an expensive giveaway book of the few couture models shown. One model was walking around somewhat forlornly wearing an all ruffled dusty pink chiffon dress under an elaborate short coat that was fur on one side, showy ostrich feathers on the other. On non walking mannequins were impressive examples of the Versace workshops, alluring draped and beaded numbers, very short to very long. They were sexy, pretty clothes, but somehow the fun seems missing. Dressy fantasy carried on through a big show by Christian Lacroix at the art deco setting of the left bank Beaux Arts School. Lacroix concentrated on colour and details, and sometimes loaded on so much fabulous fabric, furs and flashy embroideries that the ladies looked like women warriors fashion warriors that is. Lacroix has always gone overboard for opulence, ever since the glitzy 80s when he became a star. This winter s show offers lovely numbers to choose from, including a sleek green velvet gown with lace and crystal decorated transparent sleeves and flared long hemline. Or a Carmen style lady in puffy red sleeves, a long black torso with plenty of crystal and beaded embroidery, and a huge coiffure with sparkles and red ribbons, as worn throughout the show by many models. Lacroix s fashion warrior look included some overkill purple or green dyed sable, multicoloured taffeta skirts with crinolines, gold and silver brocades. But very rich clients might find various endearing items to mix or match here.
